Abstract
In this paper I analyze the purchase of a pneumatic chamber for the National Medical Institute of Mexico at the end of the 19th century. Through this case, she explores the networks of actors involved in the circulation of scientific objects, including doctors, politicians and merchants. As in Podgorny’s works the article highlights the material and commercial nature of scientific instruments and their capacity to produce new knowledge.
